Maggie Davis and Vanessa Joy Smith are the photography and cinematography team behind SMITHDAVIS. After working together on their first job, they realized how powerfully they compliment each other with their style and unique skill sets.
Vanessa has been a freelance DP and camera operator traveling the world shooting television shows, commercials and music videos with companies and projects like Chicago Fire, Travel Channel, Comedy Get Down, and Discovery. She is a member of the IATSE LOCAL 600 International Cinematographers Guild and Society of Camera Operators. Maggie spent her career working as an executive in the design and advertising industry. With a deep understanding of both the creative side and client side, she ran and oversaw campaigns for the most noteable studios in entertainment such as HBO, Warner Brothers, Showtime, YouTube, Fox, Comedy Central and corporate brands such as Microsoft, Nike & Kia.
Whether it's a still or moving image - they love to tell stories. With a less is more approach, their work lends to a clean and elegant aesthetic while always taking captive the spontaneous moments. They work to bring their bold vision and expertise to the table that has helped define leading brands around the world. When they're not working on commissions, you can find them shooting personal projects, traveling, working with non-profits and spending time with their two bulldogs Brooklyn & Pax.
